There's a lot of expectation around the launch of the Nokia E72 and BlackBerry Tour, as these two mobiles may satisfy the need of business-oriented smart phones. But will they lead the market? THis depends on the features of these two mobile phones. If we have a quick look at the features of these two phones we find both have business smart phone features like a 2.4-inch display. The BlackBerry Tour has a brighter and crisper display, packing more pixels per inch than the E72. The Tour 9630 features the now famous BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard. The E72 on the other hand has a roomier keyboard and provides an optical trackpad to evaluate demonstration video, which looks easy to use; however, the BlackBerry uses the trackball.
If we talk about connectivity the Nokia E72 has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an Infrared port; however, the BlackBerry Tour also features Bluetooth but is lacking Wi-Fi, which is much needed. The BlackBerry Tour also doesn't have FM radio.
Most importantly, if we look t the functionalities of the camera for both phones there's a big difference between the two. The Nokia E72 features a 5-megapixel camera and a secondary camera for video calls, while the BlackBerry Tour has a 3.2-megapixel camera. Both cameras have autofocus, flash, and video recording capabilities.
Now, the fate of these two phones will be likeability by the users in the coming months depending upon their usage requirements. Therefore, we need to wait and see how these two phones compete with one another and which, if either, will lead the market?
